Spectrum is a telecommunications brand provided by Charter Communications, Inc. that offers cable TV, internet and phone services for both residential and business customers. A few years ago Spectrum merged Time Warner Cable.

This service is only accessible to those who are also Spectrum Internet customers.   Those who are Spectrum Internet customers who cancel their internet will have to pay an extra $20/month for their Spectrum Mobile wireless plan.

Spectrum Mobile will only initially permit new Spectrum Internet customers to sign up for a maximum of two lines under an account.  After a waiting period of 30 days, extra lines may be added.  A maximum of 5 lines is allowed per account.

To qualify for Spectrum Mobile you should either already subscribe to Spectrum Internet or be willing to sign up for the service. You also have to purchase a device via Spectrum Mobile, sign up for automatic payments, and meet the company's credit requirements. Tick all of those boxes, and Spectrum Mobile service might be yours for as little as $14 a month on the "By the Gig" plan, or $45 a month for unlimited data.

Supported Phones and Devices

In December of 2018, Spectrum Mobile launched support for bringing your own iPhone.  Limited support for bringing your own Android was launched in April of 2019.  Bring your own device is only available in stores.  Customers can't purchase it online or pay your Spectrum bill online.

Spectrum Mobile does sell only a few limited numbers of phones.  Most are top- premium models from Apple and Samsung.  Only one device under $200 was available at launch, for example, the LG K30.

Spectrum Mobile Unlock Policy

Spectrum Mobile will unlock your phone as long because it has been paid off in full and you've got used it with their service for a minimum of 60 days. If you cancel your Spectrum Internet service, an extra Spectrum bill payment $20 per-line charge will be added and you will be limited to 5MBPS speeds when connecting to Spectrum Wi-Fi hotspots.
